Meet Andrew Laws

SEO specialist, professional attention seeker, creative thinker and occasional enthusiast for Viking poo.

Andrew Laws has spent more than 25 years helping businesses get noticed on the internet. He’s the founder of Yeseo, an SEO and digital marketing agency based in Ipswich, and someone who believes that good marketing should make sense to the people paying for it.

He’s also a writer, musician, podcaster, video maker and enthusiastic collector of interesting stories.

Some of those stories involve viral Viking poo vids 🤩 - https://www.tiktok.com/@andrew_culture

Andrew’s particular talent is finding the interesting bit in something that initially looks complicated, dull or downright peculiar, then making other people interested in it too.

It’s a useful skill when your working life involves search engines, algorithms, websites and persuading people that SEO is about considerably more than getting a green light on a WordPress plugin.

Andrews’ Story

Andrew started building things on the internet in the late 1990s, back when websites were considerably less sophisticated and getting online still felt like a minor technological achievement.

He established his own business in 2002 and has spent the years since helping organisations understand how the internet works, how people find things and how to turn online visibility into something commercially useful. That means he’s seen rather a lot of digital marketing fashions come and go.

  • New platforms

  • New algorithms

  • New terminology

  • New people promising that everything you thought you knew about marketing is now completely wrong.

Through it all, Andrew has maintained a fairly straightforward philosophy: understand your audience, create something worth finding and make sure the technology does its job. His work has evolved alongside the internet, from traditional search engine optimisation to content strategy, digital advertising, video and the changing ways people discover information through AI.

There’s another side to Andrew

He’s fascinated by stories, unusual details and the unexpected connections between apparently unrelated subjects. Which helps explain the Viking poo! Andrew has developed a following for sharing curious and entertaining content, including historical oddities, on social media. It turns out that making people interested in something they weren’t previously looking for is a rather good demonstration of what effective content can achieve.

Andrew also writes fiction, makes music and creates videos, bringing the same curiosity and creativity to his work with businesses.

He’s not particularly interested in marketing that looks impressive but achieves nothing. He’d rather help someone understand why something works, give them the confidence to make better decisions and, ideally, make the whole experience a little more enjoyable.

More Than 25 Years of Experience

Helping businesses
get found

Andrew specialises in search engine optimisation, helping organisations improve their visibility and connect with people actively looking for their products, services or expertise.

His approach combines technical SEO, content, search strategy and an understanding of what people actually want when they type something into a search engine.

He’s particularly interested in making SEO accessible to businesses that don’t have large marketing departments or unlimited budgets.

Good SEO shouldn’t be mysterious.

It should help people find you, understand what you offer and decide whether you’re right for them.

Making marketing
make sense

Andrew works across digital marketing, content strategy, advertising and creative production.

He helps businesses understand what’s working, what isn’t and where their efforts are most likely to make a difference.

That might mean improving an existing website, developing a content strategy, exploring search advertising or finding better ways to communicate what makes a business worth choosing.

He’s also an experienced speaker and educator who enjoys explaining complex subjects without making his audience feel they need a qualification in computer science to follow along.

His approach is practical, approachable and occasionally a little unconventional. Which is usually when things get interesting.

Stories, creativity
& the art of
being interesting

Andrew believes businesses often underestimate the value of their own stories.

The interesting people, unusual experiences, specialist knowledge and unexpected details behind a business can be just as valuable as its products and services.

His own creative interests span writing, music, podcasting and video production.

He’s also the creator of Andrew’s Marvellous Networking, a refreshingly informal approach to bringing business people together for useful conversations without the usual networking performance.

Andrew understands that visibility isn’t simply about shouting louder. It’s about giving people a reason to pay attention.

What Andrew Can Help You With?

Why Andrew Works With Human First Digital

Because technology is
supposed to help people!

At Human First Digital, we believe people should understand the technology they’re using and feel confident making decisions about it. Andrew brings a complementary approach.

He understands the technical detail behind search engines and digital marketing, but he’s equally interested in helping people understand what that detail means for their businesses.

Andrew’s an advocate for practical knowledge, creative thinking and marketing that delivers genuine value, he also demonstrates something we think is particularly important - You don’t have to become a different person to be good at digital business.

You can be technically capable, commercially minded, creative, curious and occasionally ridiculous.

In fact, those things often work rather well together.

Want to Get Found Without Losing Your Mind?

If your website isn’t attracting the right visitors, your marketing feels unnecessarily complicated or you’re wondering whether anyone actually understands what’s happening with search engines anymore, Andrew is a useful person to talk to.

Whether you need an SEO review, a fresh perspective on your content or someone to explain what matters and what doesn’t, he’ll help you find a sensible place to start.

No unnecessary jargon or promises of overnight domination.
